Makeup Monday’s: The FACE OF COVERGIRL

Ms. Queen Latifah has been the face of Covergirl for many many years now.  What gorgeous, flawless face she has with her very own Queen Collection.  A makeup system that suits women of color.  Who would have ever thought that Queen Latifah, Dana Owens, rapper and actress from my favorite TV show, Living Single, would have decided to launch a makeup line?

I remember Queen, was not so “queen” like back in the day.  When she was on Living Single her character was more of what I consider on the tomboy side.  She always had on  hats, big clothes, and her wardrobe was just off.

But look at her now, just as beautiful and flawless as she can be.  Now the Queen looks like a Queen with her Queen Collection.  Cover*girl!!!

“Whateva, Whateva” Wednesday’s: Back-to-School

Ok, so it’s “Whateva, Whateva” Wednesday again.  A day where we just talk about whateva right?  I am back in school.  My first day of class I had the jitters.  I was a little on the nervous side because I really just wanted to say, ” the heck with it” and go home.  But I made it through.  It wasn’t as bad as I thought, well it isn’t that bad yet, lol, I know that that time will come.  So far! So good!  I really hope that I will be able to keep up with my assignments because I really want to do well in school and my GPA needs a little boosting.  :0 If you know what I mean.

Well, I am out now!!!!

Makeup Monday’s: What about Makeup?

Hello everyone, it’s Makeup Monday’s.  Today, I want to share what I like about makeup the most and what I hated about it too.  In the past, I didn’t like makeup because I thought of makeup as only the foundation that women used to cape their faces with creams and powders that didn’t match their skin tone.  I saw so many women who had waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy too much foundation on and it was either too dark or too light making them appear ghost like or like they had a tan.  I also thought that makeup was just for those people who thought that they were not attractive and for those who wanted to hide blemishes, not for a girl like me, who love their skin as it is.  Naturally beautiful.

I specifically remember this lady who taught at my old high school who came to work everyday looking like she was two different people because her foundation was extremely too light for her dark complexion.  She must have had really bad skin.  Gesh.   I wondered why no one ever showed her the foundation for her skin tone or maybe she thought that she was looking good. I don’t know, lol, but it was horrible.

The thing I love most about makeup application is the brows.  If you have too little, you can fill them in, if you have too much you can wax, tweeze, thread, or razor them away.  The eyebrows are like the diamonds of the face.  With just a little polishing of the brows it can make a person look more appealing than those who don’t chose to shape their brows.  I love to shape and fill in my naturally thin brows.  I love to make them appear thicker than they really are.  When I apply brow color to my brows, it make me look refreshed and compliments my face.  When my brows are nice and clean, along with my hair, I just feel so good about my whole appearance.  Now I realize, not all makeup is bad, some people just make it look bad.


Fitness Friday’s: Who needs a gym?

Getting in shape is hard work!!! I wanted to join the gym, but for some reason, I just hate being stuck inside those gym walls.  Walking dreadfully on the treadmill, while watching every little second creep by as I walk in that same little space,  is just not for me.  I like to have a change of scenery, to get a work out but not feel that I am working out, to do fun things like: bike riding, walking in the park, volley ball, etc, things I can do with the whole family; just have fun like I used to do when I was a kid. 🙂 Once your body is use to being lazy, like mine lol, it’s not easy to start a work out regiment and continue it if you feel that its a task.

So, now I am on a mission to do cardio at least four days per week with two of those days being spent walking the Cherokee Trail @ Stone Mountain Park.  This trail is five miles in length and takes us about 1 hour and 30 minutes to walk the entire trail.  The first time I went with my family, it took us 2 loooooooooooong hours to defeat that monster, but WE DID IT!!!  I enjoy walking in the park, it’s relaxing, soothing, and time fly by before I know it.  I have heard so many success stories from peers about how they have lost weight and are in better shape just by walking the trail two days a week.  So I decided that I can do it too and my family can join me, free of charge, in my endeavour to get in shape.

Gym membership fees?  No way.   So go out do something fun that doesn’t feel like a work out, you will more than likely stick to it than if you felt as though you are working out. “Working out is not fun, but make it fun working out.”  Build your beauty from the outside, while conditioning the inside. ::::::))))))))))))
